At last, after a long year, we’re delighted to announce The Plough will re-open in the week of Monday 28th April. We owe a huge debt of gratitude to the residents of East Sheen for your patience and support during this time and hope you feel your loyalty is rewarded when you come and see how we’ve renovated your local!

One of the reasons it’s taken us so long to re-open the pub is because we have been absolutely committed to protecting The Plough’s heritage. It was first established as an inn over 200 years ago and, apart from a few closures due to changes of management, has been at the hub of the community ever since. We are determined to keep that tradition very much alive.

A little about us…chef Eric Payet started in his family run bakery aged 5. He is a former success of Putney Bridge Restaurant and over-saw the recent launch of Waterloo Brasserie to much acclaim. His cooking is traditional with a modern European twist and he has put together a menu which features dishes to both comfort and excite. Eric insists on using only the freshest, locally sourced ingredients. He’s a hands-on chef, so expect to see him chatting to diners and sitting at the bar at the end of service!

Manager Matthew Hough has a history in pubs and restaurants, most recently holding management roles at Michelin starred Chez Bruce in Wandsworth and local gem La Trompette in Chiswick. Matthew loves nothing better than making people feel at home and has a reputation for going that extra mile for his customers. Get talking to him and you’ll see why…

Matthew’s your man if you’d like any advice on beers or wines. We will continue to stock a varied range of real ales and lagers, and our carefully-crafted wine list includes fantastic wines to suit every palette – and pocket – and our choices come from small, dedicated, suppliers. There are some old favourites on there and a few surprises too.

The Plough is more than just a pub though. It has eight en-suite bedrooms and has been described as a ‘small boutique hotel with out-of-London prices’. Our interior designer has paid a huge amount of attention to detail to ensure each and every room feels special, tasteful and luxurious. Everything from the Egyptian cotton sheets to the high-end toiletries have been chosen with comfort in mind.

There will be lots of exciting developments in the next few weeks. Our new website is under construction and we’ll soon be releasing details of special offers and forthcoming events…including wine tastings!

Please do come in and see us…we’d love to know what you think of The Plough. We’re very proud of all we’ve achieved so far, but we’re happy to listen to your opinions on the present, and future of The Plough! The walls may be a different colour but it’s up to you, the community, to help put the warmth and soul the pub has always offered, back into The Plough.

So from all of us at The Plough, CHEERS!
